This is so good! It's one of the most digestible article I've read about abuse of power and institutional abuse. It's sad that there are so many "good" spaces where this way of being is normalized.

This article took my breath away. So well articulated on so many points. It’s applicable so far beyond just institutional abuse. Thank you!

Recasting control as righteous care using coercion and surveillance can show up anywhere in life as in any group or type of organization. The leaders show traits of narcissism or have narcissistic personality disorder. They consider power and control their duty.

Very well explained. It helps to identify, but one needs grace also to be able to see it. Thank you for casting light into the ways we let ourselves be deceived “in the name of God”. A complex issue indeed

You have so clearly articulated things I have not been able to fully see or describe in systems I have been in (and thankfully gotten out of)—this is so validating and so accurate to my experience. Thank you for this.
